Water Services

Water is provided to the citizens of Meridian by three city owned wells and surface water which is treated and stored at the City of Clifton water treatment facility and reservoir.  The surface water is pumped from the City of Clifton to Meridian via an eight inch water pipeline along FM 1991.  The water is pumped into a 260,000 gallon mixing tank where it is blended with the well water.  The City also has a 250,000 gallon elevated water storage tank and a 250,000 gallon ground storage tank.

The rates for water services are as follows:

0 to 2,000 gallons $30.50 per month, minimum charge each month

2,000 to 10,000 gallons $4.00 per 1,000 gallons

10,000 to 20,000 gallons $4.50 per 1,000 gallons

20,000 & up gallons $5.00 per 1,000 gallons

Waste Water Services

The City of Meridian operates a waste water treatment plant located at 500 S. Main, Meridian.  This plant can process approximately 450,000 gallons per day.

The city averages the water usage for each customer for the months of December, January and February each year.  This figure is used to calculate the sewer charge included on the customer’s monthly bill.  The rate per 1,000 gallons average usage is $4.00 plus a minimum of $3.60.
